This evening the comment “I’m tired, I’ve got my period and I’m not in the mood to argue” was deemed offensive because someone was eating in the same room.

With hindsight I see that the argument that menstruation is a biological fact and not a lifestyle choice is not best served by the statement “When you grow up, if you have a girlfriend with cystic fibrosis and she needs her lungs vacuuming every evening would that be ‘disgusting’ too?”

I knew what I meant. I admit I’m a bit random but sometimes I do feel like I’m living with the Taliban.
