i’ve gotten my period monthly for the past 16 years. that’s an incredibly large amount of tampons i’ve used and just this summer i learned that most women FLUSH THEIR TAMPONS!!! i didn’t know this. my father was a plumber. after my mom told him about my new womanhood the only thing he ever said to acknowledge it was “don’t flush them down the toilet” and he said it with such seriousness that it sounded like “don’t kill people its wrong.” so i never flushed a tampon. EVER. i thought one single tampon would clog a whole houses plumbing system and he would know. then i learned at the tender of age of 28 that both my gf and roommate flush. (i didn’t ask anyone else out of embarassement) i now flush my tampon at random places, never my own home, and feel the rush of rebellion.
